#30 W. (2008)

Accurate acting all around and funny in a sad and scary way. Better than I was expecting.

#29 La Vie en Rose (2007)

Great movie about the tragic life of the popular French singer Edith Pief. I can see why Marion won Best Actress for this role.

#28 Dear Zachary (2008)

Don't read anything about this documentary, just see it. Powerful.

#27 Dark City Director's Cut (1998)

Awesome sci-fi concept and a great reveal at the end leaves you thinking. Good acting overall, though Kiefer was a bit odd. Apparently his urgent whisper is his specialty.

#26 My Kid Could Paint That (2007)

Could this kid really paint that? This documentary is about Marla, a 4 year old girl whose paintings sold for thousands of dollars and was an overnight sensation until a 60 minutes hit piece ended her rise. This examines the validity of abstract art and whether or not Marla actually painted everything. When it's over, you've got to decide if it's the parent's pushing Marla to paint, or if they are just along for her ride to fame.

#25 Body of Lies (2008)

This movie was entertaining, but the trailers were a lie. Leo never goes rouge and blows up America like I was led to believe. When I realized the movie was going a different direction, I accepted it and enjoyed it for what it was.

#24 Cleaner (2007)

Terrible. Holy shit, this movie was bad. Full of cliches left and right. It's always sad to see good actors in terrible films.

#23 Brother (Brat) (1997)

Brother comes home from the army and kicks ass. Slow pacing, but the badassery pays off. Too bad this guy died in an avalanche while filming another movie.

#22 Choke (2008)

I only watched Choke because it was based on a Chuck Palahniuk book and I loved Fight Club. Other than that, I didn't know anything about the movie. It was raunchy and funny for the most part, but in the end I don't really know what I was meant to take away from the film.

#21 Changeling (2008)

Changeling was surprisingly boring. It was too long and the dialogue felt forced. It's based on a true story, but I enjoyed The Ghost of Bobby Dunbar more. It deals with similar topics (boy goes missing, wrong child is returned to family, drama; also a true story).

#20 Revolutionary Road (2008)

Kate and Leo hate each other really well in Revolutionary Road. Everyone does an amazing job, especially Michael Shannon, who plays the 'crazy' son of Kathy Bates. Both leading stars should win a best male/female actor Academy Awards.

#19 Africa Wins Again, Or, Hotel Rwanda (2004)

Finally saw this. Didn't realize it was from '04 - thought it was more recent. Great movie. Such a sad state of affairs that Africa always seems to find itself in.
