The first movie I've seen that tried to make me sympathize with the Nazi family. Boohoo. Bruno is the slowest 8 year old ever. I mean, he sneaks into a gas chamber instead of helping his friend escape. Barbed wire fence universally means prison if you are surrounded by it. I don't care if you're 8 or 88; it doesn't take a genius to figure out the other kid's life sucks. And I don't buy for a minute that German civilians had no idea what they were doing to the Jews.

I saw this movie and felt sorry for the dumb Jewish kid too. He was probably mentally deficient due to poor nutrition.
