A classic. They sure as hell don't make movies like this anymore. A very long movie in three acts and in the end the length is justified. Amazing acting by a young De Niro, Streep, and Watkins. We follow a group of friends as they celebrate a marriage, then being shipped off to Vietnam, and the toll it takes on all their lives after the war. A powerful film.
